Hanwood take on Ifton tonight in the Flowfit Shropshire Premier Bowling League. These two teams met at Ifton first game of the season, and the home side gave Hanwood a baptism of fire in hammering them 14-0. But Hanwood have come a long way since then and have adjusted well to life in the league. Joint home captain Mark Shore says “tonight we welcome Ifton to the cock for our rearranged game. I feel we have come a long way since our opening day mauling by Dickie’s boys and we will want to put in a performance that demonstrates how we have come on. The green is in fantastic condition and if it stays dry it will prove a real test for everyone. At the start of the season I told the lads if we match our away results with our home results we would be OK. We will be hard pushed to win 14-0 but we would be happy to run out 10-4 winners tonight. Game starts at 6 so it would be good to see a few down for this unusual fixture date.” Ifton skipper Dickie Jones admits “not to many of our players have played the Hanwood green so we are expecting another tough game.” Ifton have played their in the Wem League this season, so some of their players do have some experience of it, however this was back in April!
It should be a good game so get yourself down to Hanwood for a great night of Premier League bowls!
