Hadley USC edged out Newport tonight 8-6 to close the game to 2 points on Bylet, who have a home game in hand on Wrockwardine Wood next Wednesday. It was a close game throughout, each 4 being 2-2 with Newport leading after the first four despite Dave Price’s MVP win of 12. Hadley pulled the shots back in the middle with captain Adrian Smith’s best win of 10 cancelling out Alan Davidson’s 10 win, Newport’s best. It was level going into the back but Steve Homer’s 11 win and Ray Gregory’s 15 win brought home the aggregate for the Huskies, even with Russell Pegram gaining MVP for his 16 win.
