Bylet took a big step towards safety as they beat Wrockwardine Wood 10-4 tonight. Tim Ealey led the way with a 21-9 win being MVP and best winner, with Bylet counting themselves unlucky not to win more with two 20 losers. Best winner for Wrockwardine was recent Dennis Lewis Open winner Stuart Rutter 10 with captain Tom Langford being MVP for winning 17.
Hanwood took a step towards a top 6 spot with 4 winners at St Georges, who are 2 points behind Castlefields in 2nd. Hanwood were unlucky with two 20 losers as well with Phil Lyttle best winner 11. Wayne Phillips was one of those getting 20 and earned MVP along with opponent Lewis Scott. Ian Gaut was best winner for the Dragons who will fancy their chances of getting 2nd with Castlefields being away at Bylet and them at home to Bowring. Hanwood are a point above Bowring and with a home game against Wem USC will fancy their chances of staying in the top 6, the highest placed achieved by a new team since Castlefields entered the league in 1995.
