Successful Bank Holiday Weekend at Bowls

It was a successful bank holiday for our bowlers as four of them won competitions. Firstly Craig Griffiths and Keiron Roberts from Ifton won the Waterloo Men Pairs in Blackpool. They beat Michael Coupe and Peter Hawkes 16 in the final, with team mates Nick Hughes and Leighton Roberts, and Graham Rogers and Andrew Armstrong, both losing 20 second round.

On Monday and two of our bowlers won competitions. Firstly Rich Lawson of Bowring won the County Handicap for a record third time on the bounce, beating Scott Simpson from Sir John Bayley 2o in the final. There is a full report here.

Over in Birmingham and Greg Smith from Hanwood won the Moor Lane Open, beating Tom Pritchard 20 in the final. Sir John Bayley’s Chris Ward made the second round to. It was more poignant for the club given they had their clubhouse burnt down just a few days before, and you can donate here to help them rebuild it. Full scores from the competition are here.

And today Callum Wraight won the St Andrews Invitation beating Craig Rammell 20 in the final.
