Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
The Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League will aim to defend its Senior Inter League crown with two teams entered as well as being the host of it. Both teams feature youth and experience and players who won it last season. The Blue team is led by Jamie King and features youngsters Rob Roden, Dave Lloyd, George Williams and Rob Fuller, along with Bowring specialists Scott Harries and Mark Taylor and the in form Dave Burton and Paul Reeves, the latter having not lost a game in the league yet. They will play Tanners Shropshire, Shropshire Ladies and the Mid Shropshire Friday teams on the small green on Bowring. The Yellow team has more experience with last year’s winners Darren Wellings, Colin Beaman and Stuart Rutter hoping to win it again, along with the in form Tony Rhodes, Tom Langford and Craig Wilson, and new County player Ash Wellings. They are led by Mark Thomas who himself has enjoyed a fine start to last season. They are on Sir John Bayley bottom green along with the Wem League, featuring several Newport players, Mid Shropshire Thursday and the Market Drayton Senior Citizens League.
Both teams will hope to get through their group and onto the Semi Finals and Final on St Georges Top Green.
The league and Salop Leisure will like to wish the teams all the best, and hopefully we can organise a great day even if the weather forecast is a bit dodgy!
