Last night in the Barlows Fire & Security Alan Mayhew Trophy Newport played two unregistered players against Castlefields. As this is not covered in the Competition Rules it meant we had to apply rule 10 where the League Management Committee deals with any other matters not governed by those Competition rules. As a result the Management Committee have decided to apply the same rule we apply to league matches.
“No player shall be eligible to play in any league match or competition organised by the Premier League unless he has been officially registered with the Fixtures Secretary.”
This means the Management Committee has decided to enforce the following penalty from rule 4.
“In the event of a club playing an unregistered player a fine of £25 will be payable to the league by the offending club. In addition the game in which the unregistered player took part shall be awarded to the opposing team 21-0.”
This means that Castlefields now win by 15 instead of a Newport win by 14 and will face Bowring in the Quarter Finals on Wednesday 9th August.
