There are two rearranged games on tonight as Champions Sir John Bayley look to close the gap to Castlefields as they travel to Hanwood and there is a derby between Wrockwardine Wood and St Georges. The Bayley are 8 behind Castlefields and know they have to get a good haul at Hanwood to keep in the hunt. Spokesman Rob Burroughs comments “we need to get as many points as we can but it’s not going to be easy. Hanwood have one of the best home records in the league so we have to play at our very best to ensure we get anything out of it, which we are very capable of.” Hanwood themselves have 4 out of their last 6 at home so will fancy their chances of at least a top 5 finish to match last years.
Wrockwardine Wood and St Georges clash in one of the tastiest derbies of the season given the rivalry of the two teams. The Wrockites could still get a top half finish with a strong finish so know a good home result is needed to achieve that. St Georges will be buoyant after their KGJ Insurance County Cup Final success and will want to push on in the league now. Captain Tony Rhodes comments tongue in cheek that we are “not at full strength as most teams aren’t in August but you have to get the games played. We as always will go looking for points as we aim for top 6 and WWBC never like to give us anything. Expecting a lively game as ever but all good banter.”
