2017 Review:
Burway had an alright season finishing with roughly the same points they usually do but it was their lowest they’ve recorded in the league, however did move up a place from the year before. Apart from one blip against Castlefields on a wet night they were unbeaten at home, including a momentous 14-0 win against the Champions Sir John Bayley. They did win away at the Bowring in the 1st half of the season, but only scored more than 3 on another three occasions in the whole season away from home. They kept up their excellent record in the Pool B by winning it again.
2018 Aims:
Burway will want to make that step up and try and make the top half for the first time to make it into the Pool A. Most of their players from last season know they need to improve their stats for them to be able to move on. They will hope their home form stays the same and only improve on making it an unbeaten home season. But the away form is what they need to concentrate on as it was so poor last season, the third worst in the league, and will want to be picking up 4s and 5s rather than 2s and 3s. They have drawn Bridgewater in the Alan Mayhew Trophy so will expect to progress through this.
