2017 Review:
Castlefields returned to winning ways in 2017 and took their first title since 2010. They led for pretty much the whole season after winning at Hanmer, and then getting 7 winners at main rivals Sir John Bayley. Their home form was excellent and a 1 shot win at Wem USC was followed up by 6 winners at Ifton and losing 2 points for an ineligible player to give their rivals a sniff. But an 11-3 win at Burway in the rain put those doubts to rest and despite a scare at home to Bowring, a game they should have lost, beating the Bayley 9-5 pretty much sealed the title. They lost in the Semi Finals against Hanwood, and withdrew from the Pool A.
2018 Aims:
Castlefields will be confident of reclaiming their title with two more additions to their squad with Jon Palmer back from his ban and Keith Wall returning. They however have lost Andy Judson to work but with the squad they have will be wanting to win it again. They had excellent home form, so will hope to keep that up, and keep their away form at a consistent level too. They have drawn St Georges in the Alan Mayhew Trophy, so know they have a tough 1st round tie.
