Comments:
Chester Road finished with exactly the same points as the year before in the same position so no progress was made, however they were without star man Andy Moss for most of the season. They didn’t have the best of starts, only just beating Hanmer by 2 chalks, before a home loss by Newport. They struggled for form at home, they didn’t win by more than 9-5 there for the first half of the season. They were second bottom before winning 11-5 at bottom placed Hanmer, which helped ease their relegation worries as they had played 8 of the first 13 games at home. They did lose their next two home games though, before another away win at Wem USC. They ended the season well, winning at Meole Brace and getting their biggest home win against Bylet to move to 11th place. They lost first round in both of the two cup competitions.
