- Wayne Phillips
Clubs: Hanwood, Castlefields, Ford, Meole Brace
Reason for Invite: Leading player for Hanwood
Wayne started out at Hanwood, playing for their first four seasons in the league. He had a solitary season for Castlefields in 2001, before moving to Ford when they entered the league in 2002. He stayed there till 2005, when he went to Meole Brace. After six seasons there, he moved back to Hanwood to help them into the league. He has over 100 Shropshire appearances, and won many titles to, which should help him here!

Clubs: Craven Arms, Ford, St Georges, Bowring, Burway
Reason for Invite: 2004 Mike Hinton Pairs Winner
Pete started to play for Craven Arms in 1996, and remained there till they had to pull out of the league in 2005, moving straight over to Ford. He stayed there till 2010, when he went to St Georges, and then in 2013 he was at the Bowring for two seasons, before moving closer to home at Burway in 2016. He didn’t play last season because of an injury, but hopes to be back this season, and start off the season with a bang!

Clubs: Wrockwardine Wood
Reason for Invite: 2005 Mike Hinton Pairs Winner
Rob started playing Premier League bowls in 1996 for Wrockwardine Wood, but didn’t become a regular until 1999, however he has remained a key player for them since, being captain several times. He won the Mike Hinton Pairs in 2005 with Dale Downes, but hope to go solo here!

Reason for Invite: 2017 & 2018 Mike Hinton Pairs Winner
Dan first played Premier League bowls in 2009 for Wrockwardine Wood, but then went to Donnington Wood. He moved back to Wrockwardine in 2017, when he won the Mike Hinton Pairs with team mate Stuart Rutter, and repeating the feat the year after, becoming the first pair to retain the title. He has won the Staffordshire Merit, so knows how to win these big competitions!

Clubs: Castlefields, Chester Road
Reason for Invite: 2009 Mike Hinton Pairs Winner
Andy played at Castlefields from 1999, helping them win the league in 2000. He moved to Chester Road in 2003, where he won the league for three consecutive seasons. In 2009 he won the Mike Hinton Pairs with Charlie Weaver, and was at Chester Road until 2013, when he moved back to Castlefields. Since then he’s won two more league titles with them, and qualified for the St Georges Open this season already. His laid back attitude may help in this marathon!

Clubs: Meole Brace, Hanwood
Reason for Invite: 2013 League Merit Winner
Glyn first played Premier League bowls for Meole Brace in 2009. In 2013 he won the Premier League Merit at Prees, before moving to Hanwood in 2016 after they managed to earn promotion to the league. He helped them win their first Premier League trophy in 2017 after they beat his former club Meole in the Alan Mayhew Trophy final. He had a great season last year and will hope to continue that form this one!

Clubs: Childs Ercall, St Georges, Wrockwardine Wood, Newport
Reason for Invite: September 2018 Player of the Month
Tom was at Childs Ercall in 2007 and 2008, after which he moved to St Georges. He moved to Wrockwardine Wood where he got a regular starting place. But he went back to St Georges for a season, and then tried a new challenge at Newport last season, where he won the Player of the Month in September. Hopefully he continues that form into this month!

Reason for Invite: 2014 League Averages Winner
Scott started off at the Bylet when he was young, but couldn’t stop them getting relegated in 2001. He stayed with them and led them back to the Premier League in 2006 after winning 4 in the Play-off final. In 2010 he moved to St Georges, when he won the cup double, before a move to Newport in 2013, where he won the league for three consecutive years. In 2014 he also won the League Averages. For the 2016 season he moved back to the Bylet. He has won the Bowring Open before so will know how to go far in a 64 one day competition!
- Bill Tarrell
Clubs: Hanwood, Ford, Meole Brace
Reason for Invite: 56th in all time averages
Bill started out at Hanwood in the league, playing in their first four seasons in the league, until they pulled out. He moved to Ford and helped them get into the league in 2001. There he played a record 265 games, winning 146 of them, until they had to pull out of the league in 2013. So he went to Meole Brace where he has remained since. He plays for the Senior Citizens at Sir John Bayley, so should have some green knowledge on the new green.
- Kiah Roberts
Clubs: Burway
Reason for Invite: May 2018 Player of the Month
Kiah is one of the best young players in the league since helping Burway into the league in 2012. He has played 153 games since then, winning 102, about a two thirds win rate. He won our Player of the Month in May 2018. He has won the Dennis Lewis Open before, and the Shropshire Merit, so will hope to add another big title to his collection.
- Dale Rudrum
Clubs: Bylet, Newport
Reason for Invite: 2013 Most Consecutive Wins
Dale had a single season for the Bylet in 2000, before heading for Newport and helping them win a place in the Premier League in 2003. He has remained there since. He also won the Most Consecutive Wins award in 2013, also winning 21 games that season. He returned to form last season and will hope to continue that.

Clubs: St Georges, Donnington Wood, Chester Road, Childs Ercall
Reason for Invite: 1997 Most Consecutive Wins
John first played in the league for St Georges in 1996, winning the Most Consecutive Wins award in his second season. He helped them win the League treble in 1999, but moved to Donnington Wood the season after, where he remained until 2004. Chester Road was his next club, winning the league with them in 2005, before going back to St Georges for a season in 2007, winning the league there too. After that he moved to Childs Ercall, where he remained until they dropped out of the league in 2012. He now plays for Shifnal on a Monday night, but hopefully will still have the talent to go far.

Clubs: Wrockwardine Wood, Bowring, Newport
Reason for Invite: 2016 Mike Hinton Pairs Winner
Stuart made his first Premier League start for Wrockwardine Wood in 2004, but it wasn’t until 2010 when he became a regular there. He struggled for form until a breakthrough season in 2015, and then moved to the Bowring for a season. He came back in 2017 and has now moved to Newport. He won the Mike Hinton Pairs in 2016 with Josh Bradburn, but will look to go by himself in this!

Clubs: Hadley USC, Donnington Wood, St Georges
Reason for Invite: 31st in all time averages
Dave had one season for Hadley USC in 1996, and then moved to Donnington Wood in 2002. After two seasons he went to St Georges, winning their Averages that season, and has remained there since, playing 376 times, winning 225 of them. He won the league in two consecutive seasons, amongst Alan Mayhew and Pool A trophies. He doesn’t enter too many competitions, but in the right mood he can go far.

Reason for invite: 24th in all time averages
Mark started his Premier League career at Castlefields, having a full season there in 1998 when they won the league. He only played one game in 1999 though, so he moved to Meole Brace. Since then he has played 468 times for them, captaining them for several seasons, and leading them to their first Premier League trophy in the Alan Mayhew Trophy of 2016. He has enjoyed recent good form so will hope to keep that up.
- Darren Wellings
Clubs: Meole Brace, Hanwood
Reason for Invite: League Merit Winner 2010
Darren didn’t start Premier League bowls until 2009 when he moved to Meole Brace. He won the League Merit the season after. He played 227 times for them, wnning 146 of those. In 2018 he moved over to Hanwood. He has won other competitions before so will look to transfer that over to this.
