Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
The qualifying for the last 16 of the Seaton Sports starts tonight with players from 13 clubs taking part to get through. At Chester Road and one of our hall of famers Colin Beaman will look to qualify alongside team mate Rich Lawson and Wayne Phillips, all players in the top 25 of the all time League Averages. Nicky Jones and Leighton Roberts from Ifton will be expected to go close too. Mike Beer is a former winner of this and is at Meole Brace where other winners Glyn and Darren Wellings are. Ash Wellings will look to make his mark on this competition, as well as Burway players Wayne Rogers and Kiah Roberts.
There are two qualifying venues in Telford with Sir John Bayley now only having 12 players. Record winner Pete Farmer is back in the competition there, with holder Stuart Rutter there to. Jamie King has reached the final before, while Russ Pegram and Dave Rhodes will be expected to go close. Newport sees Shropshire Merit Winner Spencer Clarke there alongside team mate Tom Roden. Highley players Darrell Handley, Stu Gittings and Bill Staite enter for the first time. Former winner Tony Rhodes aims to win this again, while Lewis Scott is in red hot form in the league and will look to transfer it there.
All Venues start at 7, with no dress code in place.
