Midland Masters Preview
The 2019 Midland Masters is being held at Prees Bowling Club with several of our players looking to take advantage of green knowledge. Pete Farmer of Newport has won the Shropshire Merit on these greens and has Phil Owen first game. Gary Beff from Chester Road has done well in competitions this season, and the North Shropshire qualifier has Darren Clews first up. Wayne Rogers of Burway is a former finalist in this and plays Mark Blackmore, while Jamie King of Wrockwardine Wood is a former quarter finalist and has a tough opener against Ivan Smout. His Wrockwardine team mate Stuart Rutter knows how to win big competitions and plays Danny Sillitoe, and Meole Brace’s Ade Jennings plays Adam Jackson. Hanwood pair Wayne Phillips and Ash Wellings take on Dave Semper and Sir John Bayley’s Gordon Hawkins respectively. Gordon’s team mate Scott Simpson is leading the League Averages and hopes to take that form into this competition when playing Chris Kearns. Highley pair Stuart Gittings and Reece Farr play Adam Hartley and Paul Freeth respectively. Gary Cooper of Bylet plays Darren Day, and Jon Price, who has played one game for Newport, takes on Adam Dickerson.
