Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
The start of the 2008 season fell on the 4th April and it produced a couple of shocks. Wrockwardine Wood won 8-6 at St Georges in a massive upset as the Dragons were reigning champions, while Wem USC won 10-4 at Newport, in Newport’s first ever game in the league. Archibald Worthington were top as they beat Donnington Wood 13-1, while Ifton also enjoyed a big win over Childs Ercall by 12-2. Castlefields and Chester Road both won 10-4 against two Shrewsbury sides, Meole Brace and Ford respectively. The strangest result was at the Bylet as the home side had 8 winners but didn’t win the aggregate against Sir John Bayley.
