On this day two years ago there were three away wins in the league, all taking advantage of the extra two points for an away win put in for that season. Castlefields scored an eye catching 11-5 win at St Georges, with championship rivals Sir John Bayley winning by the same score at Bylet. The other away winners were another title rival Newport, who won at Chester Road 12-4. Hanwood scored a big home win over Ifton 12-2, after Ifton had won at Hanwood the year before! Bowring beat Wem USC 10-4 in their last season in the league, while Burway defeated Wrockwardine Wood 9-5 and Meole Brace beat Hanmer 8-6.
