On this day last year, there was a big night in the title race. Sir John Bayley earned their first win at Hanmer, as they won 11-5, while fellow challengers Castlefields could only beat Hanwood 8-6, and Newport just got the 4 winners at Highley. Fellow contenders St Georges agonisingly lost by one chalk at Ifton with 7 winners, which helped Ifton extend their lead over Chester Road at the bottom, who had 4 winners at Bylet. Meole Brace enjoyed a good 12-2 home win over Burway, while Wem USC continued their impressive season after beating Wrockwardine Wood 10-4.
