On this day 2 years ago Chester Road won away at Hanmer 11-5 to consign them to bottom spot, a position they didn’t vacate for the rest of the season. St Georges also won away 11-5 at Wem USC, who continued their inconsistent home form for the season. There were some big home wins for the title challengers. Castlefields hammered Hanwood 13-1, while Newport and Sir John Bayley beat Meole Brace and Bowring 12-2 as they kept pace at the top. Ifton also had an impressive 12-2 win over Burway, while Bylet beat Wrockwardine Wood 9-5 in the other game.
