On this day three years ago Castlefields won a ninth league championship by getting 6 at Chester Road, with runners up Sir John Bayley pushing them all the way after hammering Meole Brace 14-0. St Georges earned a vital 12-2 win over Bowring to overtake them into 4th, with Hanwood completing the top 6 by overtaking rivals Meole Brace with a 11-3 win over Burway. Bylet beat bottom placed Wem USC 12-2, while Newport defeated Hanmer 11-3. Wrockwardine Wood just missed out on a top half finish after beating Ifton 9-5.
