Phil Jones of St Georges won the 2021 SPBL Merit for the John Coxil Trophy. He beat the current holder Liam Stevens on the Bowring 14 as he came back from any early 10-4 and 12-8 deficit to win 14, running out from 14-12 down. In the Semi Finals he defeated Tim Jordan 12, running out from 15-12 up.
