North Shropshire Derby, Hanmer face Fields Challenge, Ifton have tough trip
There is another North Shropshire derby in week 10 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Chester Road host Wem USC, with the visitors in need of points to close the gap at the bottom of the table. Home skipper Gary Beef says “very much looking forward to being back on the Road after a series of really tough away games. Hopefully a positive result against one of our local rivals.” Just down the road Hanmer host Castlefields, with both teams having an excellent start to the season. Home captain Ieuan Pugh said “we are playing well as a squad so we are looking forward to playing a top team and challenging ourselves. Our home form has been brilliant and the green is only getting faster. We know they are a good team with some very good players so we will be right up for it.” Ifton face a tough trip to Sir John Bayley looking to regain some of the momentum from the start of the season. Skipper Dickie Jones is “expecting a tough game against a quality side where points will be hard to get.” The Bayley will be looking to go back top of the table and try and put a gap between them and their challengers. Burway will be looking to keep their good form going as they entertain an Adderley side that has struggled the last few weeks with a run of tough fixtures and will be anxious to start picking up points to move away from the bottom end of the table. Bylet are just above Adderley and will be looking for a repeat of their win over St Georges last season, but know that St Georges are capable of producing a win on their green given some of their good results this season. Hanwood will be looking for a good home win against Highley, especially given the dry conditions recently. Highley have had some good home wins so far this season and will want to keep their decent points hauls going away from home.
