8 players look to get their name on the John Coxill Trophy tonight, 3 of them for the second time. Mike Beer won this in 2014, and takes on Mark Thomas in an all Shrewsbury clash. Martin Lloyd won it 10 years earlier at the Bylet, and has a former winner in Josh Bradburn first game, who did grow up on this green, albeit a while ago now! His dad, Roy, did win it on the other green at Donnington Wood in 2011, and could become the first father and son to win this at the same venue. Jamie King is also a former finalist, against Mike in 2014, and has a chance of redemption as he takes on Rich Lawson, who beat him in the Shropshire Senior Merit Finals earlier this season. The other tie sees Nicky Jones of Ifton play Josh Cotton from Wrockwardine Wood, with Josh having had his best season so far in the league and Nicky looking to become the first player from Ifton to win this.
