Comments: Bylet achieved what they aimed for, 13th place. After losing so many players it was a season that was all about keeping together and that what’s captain Cheryl Caswell managed to do. After a narrow home win over Burway first game, a tough run of home games saw them equal a record 16 straight defeats, but these did involve 7 winners at Hanmer, 6 at Highley and at home to Meole Brace and Wrockwardine Wood as they didn’t get cut off. They ended that run with a 11-3 win over Hanmer, and then followed it with 4 winners at Sir John Bayley and a big 11-3 win over their rivals Horsehay which put them in the driving seat to avoid bottom spot. Despite losing at home to Wem, home wins over Adderley and Hanwood meant they didn’t finish bottom and a successful season. They then went close to winning the Pool B, but lost out to Adderley by 4 in the final.
Winter Aims: To keep Cheryl as captain again and to sign more players who will add quality and quantity to a threadbare squad, despite the use of 26 players last season, there was only a core of 15 players.
