Audlem Special Events Team Alan Mayhew Trophy Final Draw & Preview

The 2025 Audlem Special Events Team Alan Mayhew Trophy Final takes place tonight with record holders Castlefields taking on Ifton on Bowring old non-prem green. The Fields have won this 10 times, including last year, while Ifton have won this just once in 2009. Only three remain from that team, Dickie Jones, Andy Hughes and Darren Lacey, with Nick Jones having been on reserve. There are some cracking ties, with the most in form player in the league at the moment Owen Jackson for Ifton meeting Wayne Rogers at number one. Nicky Jones takes on Tom Palmer which should be a tight game, while former Meole Open winner Andy Hughes plays former Autumn Waterloo winner Jon Palmer at number five. Andrew Armstrong plays against his former team and plays Ian Jones at number 6. Captain Dickie Jones, skippering Ifton for a record 11th time in the league, plays Rich Goddard at number 9 which could set the tone for the back four.

Fields skipper Steve Peach says “we are looking forward to another Alan Mayhew final. We have managed to come through a difficult side of the draw in beating Wrockwardine Wood & Sir John Bayley but we expect to the challenge of Ifton to be just as tough. Ifton are a side we have the utmost respect for and are a side full of quality, so we will have to be at our best to come out on top.” Ifton captain Dickie Jones is “looking forward to the final and playing Castlefields who I’m sure will bring out the best in us and hopefully do ourselves proud!”

The action starts at 6.30.

There will be a small programme available free of charge.

There will be a buffet after the game.

Live scores will be available here.
