Wem USC shocked Meole Brace by winning there 11-5 in week 12 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Captain Andy Marshall says “we were very happy with the unexpected win at a good Meole side. The green was in beautiful condition but was really fast which probably caught out the home side a bit.” Best winner was Luke Boniface 7, with Craig Wilson best for Meole 10. Ifton won well away again, this time 12-4 at Adderley. Martin Jones was best winner 21-2, Jack Hazeldine best for the home side 11. Sir John Bayley continued their winning run with a 12-4 success at Highley to move back top. Spencer Clarke was their best winner 5, while John Heath was best 12 for the home side. Bylet earned an 11-5 away win at St Georges, but a decision on two potential unregistered players will need to be made by the League Committee. Matthew Walters was their best winner 10, while home captain Martin Gaut was their best winner 12. Hanwood were the only home winners, beating Hanmer 11-3. Dave Payne was best winner 9, with Matt Beeston best for the away side 7.
Sir John Bayley are two clear of Castlefields, who are another 7 ahead of Wrockwardine Wood. Horsehay are 8 behind Hanmer, and another 7 adrift of Adderley. Jon Palmer is ahead of three others on 11 wins, with Reece Farr and Owen Jackson now finishing on 11 consecutive wins.
