Bylet Open Report

Jamie King retained the Bylet Open after overcoming an impressive Camilla Parsonage 19 in the final. Camilla had the better start to go 7-4 up but then Jamie went 9-7 ahead. After this It was nip and tuck all the way through, with neither being able to break away from the other. Jamie at 18-17 up was two down but found a good bowl, and went 20-17 up. But Camilla got back in and scored two singles and led a good bowl within two foot last end but Jamie but his first bowl a few inches in front and Camilla missed her strike.

In the Semi Finals Jamie King recovered from 11-6 down against Ayden Smith to go 16 across and run out. Camilla Parsonage held her nerve against Dan Taylor, who produced a great comeback from 20-10 down to get to 20 across but Camilla held her nerve to get the one she needed.

In the Quarter Finals Jamie King went 9-1 up on Clay Flattley and kept that lead to win 15. Camilla was 10-2 up on Gavin Bridge but went 13-12 down, however she went 20-13 up and won 16. Ayden Smith was 11-4 up on Will Childs and kept this advantage to win 16. Dan Taylor held off a great comeback from Pauline Wilson who was 17-11 and 19-14 down but got back to 20 across and Dan had to play a good bowl to get the one he needed.

Well done to Jamie on his success and qualifying for the BCGBA Champion of Champions and Shropshire Champion of Champions.

Camilla Parsonage from 9-4 ahead went 19-4 up on Will Tyler and won 9.

Gavin Bridge went 12-2 up on Chris Newbrook and won 8.

Clay Flattley was 9-3 up on Pete Farmer and then 18-6 and won 12.

Jamie King was 5-4 down to Nick Lewis but went 9-5 up and then 15-9. Nick got back to 15-14 but Jamie won 15.

Will Childs raced 9-0 up on Adrian Owens and kept this advantage to win 11.

Ayden Smith from 5-4 up on Pete Grimston went 15-4 ahead and won 10.

Dan Taylor was 15 across with Glen Herbert and went 18-15 up and won 18.

Pauline Wilson went 7-1 and 12-3 up on Tom Killen and won 12.

Last 32:

Will Tyler was 10-4 up on Tony Gill but Tony got back to 17-15 from 17-8 behind. At 20-15 Tony got back to 19 but Will got the one he needed.

Camilla Parsonage was 14-5 up on Ben Delves and from 15-10 ran out.

Gavin Bridge from 14-10 and 16-14 down beat Scott Harries 17.

Chris Newbrook was 10-5 up on Josh Williams but then 12-10 down. He went 19-12 up and won 13.

Glen Herbert was 11-6 up on Jordan Wiltshire but Jordan got back to 12-11. However Glen pulled away to go 17-12 ahead and won 14.

Dan Taylor was 15-11 up on Liam Stevens but then 17-15 down. From 20-19 down he got the two he needed.

Pauline Wilson was 6-1 up on Matt Parton and kept that lead to win 17.

Tom Killen was 10-4 and 14-9 down to Gareth Davies but from 15-11 behind he went 17-15 up and won 17.

Will Childs was 7-6 down to Chris Ward but went 14-7 up and won 12.

Adrian Owens was 8-2 and 12-3 up on Jack Clayton and held off any fightback to win 15.

Ayden Smith was 10-5 down to John Roberts but went 15-10 up and won 16.

John Roberts was 8-1 up on Gill Owens but then 9 across. He went 15-9 ahead and won 12.

Pete Grimston was 8-1 and 12-5 up on Harry Grimston but Harry got back to 14-11, however Pete won 13.

Clay Flattley was 11-9 down to Stuart Rutter but went 15-11 ahead. Stuart went 18-16 up and then 19-18 down. At 20 across Stuart hit a good fire but the jack hit the back bowl and he was down.

Pete Farmer was 19-2 up on Mark Archer and won 9.

Jamie King was 11-9 down to Jon Lea but went 16-11 up and won 18.

Nick Lewis was 19-14 down to Gareth Ingram and ran out.

Will Tyler was 13-12 down on Jordan Millman after being 11-4 up. He went 20-13 up and won 14.

Tony Gill was 13-0 up on Aaron King and kept this lead to win 13.

Ben Delves was 19-10 down to Luke Beckett but won 20.

Camilla Parsonage was 10-2 down to Ben Mantom but then went 14-10 up and won 14.

Scott Harries went from 5-4 down to 13-5 up and won 10 against Gareth Jones.

Gavin Bridge from 12-7 up on Emmet McKinley ran out.

Chris Ward was level most of the way with Mark Mantom but from 17 across ran out.

Will Childs was 13-9 and 17-15 down to Matt Beeston but ran out.

Adrian Owens was 10-1 up on Shaun Barker and from 16-12 ahead ran out.

Jack Clayton was 8-3 up on Michael Cooper but Michael got back to lead 18-16. Jack though ran out.

Ayden Smith was only 7-5 up on Chris Dodds and won 11.

Harry Grimston from 11-7 up against Jason Williams won 8.

Pete Grimston was 14-3 up on Myles Smith and won 11.
