Week 3 Preview

Newport look to bounce back

Newport will look to bounce back from their disappointing start last week against a Burway side who have made a solid start this season. But Burway have only scored 2 winners the twice they’ve visited and have lost by over 100 shots so Newport will be hoping for something similar to kick start their season. Early Pacesetters Meole Brace will be looking for another whitewash against Wrockwardine Wood like last season, but Wrockwardine Wood have made a much better start this season and will be hoping for a good return.

There is a Telford derby at Sir John Bayley where St Georges visit. Sir John Bayley are without skipper Tom Roden, who’s on honeymoon, but vice captain Alex Jones will be looking  for a good result from his team. It’s been 9-5 the last two seasons so promises to be a good game. Hadley USC will look to build on their excellent 5 at Castlefields when Archibald Worthington visit. Archie got 5 there last year but only 1 the year before so will be hoping for something similar to last season.

Three players who made the move from Leek Street return when Castlefields play at Wem USC. Andy Judson, Luke Jones and Callum Wraight will be hoping that they can help Castlefields get an away win at a green where they have a good record. But home captain Mike Dulson will be hoping that young Curtis Metcalfe can help inspire his troops again like last week. Bowring having made an excellent start travel to a Chester Road side who will hope to get their first home win of the season after narrowly losing to Castlefields in the first week. The final game sees Bylet hoping to bounce back from their home defeat against Meole Brace with a tough trip to Ifton who got a great 5 points up at St Georges last week.
