2016 Aim: 2015/16 off season has been busy for the Wrockites as with all other teams and the potential signings across the league has kept us all on our toes. But 2015 was a fantastic year for us having won away at Ifton, Burway and Hadley and We felt we were doing well and could see ourselves within the top 6. Our home form was good yet losing to Wem was a blemish on our record, so an improvement and to try and win all our home games is a must for this year. Last year we pushed so very near for 4th spot and it all went down to the last game of the season. This year we feel we have only strengthened and with the calibre of the additions we have managed to secure in this year we feel we can cement ourselves within the top 4 once again. When it comes to cup ties last year we had a good run in all of them and hope to only improve on that this year.

Comments:
Wrockwardine Wood didn’t recover from the loss of key players over the Winter as they couldn’t follow up their excellent 2015 season where they finished 7th, just outside the top 6. They struggled all season, being near the bottom at the start of the season but did pull away to finish 11th. After an alright start beating Chester Road and Hadley USC 11-3 at home they lost at home to Bylet, then only had 5 winners at home to Hanwood but did win the aggregate. However, apart from one narrow home loss against Sir John Bayley in a high quality game, they didn’t loss at home again, including two 7 chalk wins over St Georges and Meole Brace as well as their best result of the season, 12-2 against Wem USC. They did win away at Hadley USC 10-4, and did pick up 3 points or more in all but 2 of their away games.
They lost to Wem USC by 15 in the first round of the Black Tech Ltd Alan Mayhew Trophy but did beat them in the BowlsTrader Pool B 1st round by 11 before losing to Ifton by 20 in the Semi Finals.
