Comments:
After a host of signings this season Bowring didn’t manage to improve on their 8th place finish last season, or indeed finish in their highest position, but they did finish with their highest number of points ever recorded. Their home form was great, only one blemish being a draw at home to Meole Brace, and only two more games where they didn’t score a double figure worth of points. They didn’t manage to win away though, and this was what prevented them from finishing in the top half. They rarely got hammered, scoring 3 or less in only three games, but they didn’t quite manage to win any aggregate points. the closest they came was losing by 9 to Bylet in their first away game.
Cup wise it was a good season, reaching the Semi Finals of the Black Tech Ltd Alan Mayhew Trophy after beating Bylet and Ifton before losing to Castlefields. In the Pool B they reached the final after beating Hadley USC and then Newport by 3, but even being at home, even if it was their other green, they couldn’t manage to defeat Ifton to add to their KGJ Insurance County Cup Triumph.
