Comments:
Ifton couldn’t reproduce the form of the previous season where they finished 3rd as they struggled away all season, their only away win coming in their first one of the season at Hadley USC 10-4. This after thrashing Hanwood 14-0 first game meant they looked like they could go all the way but despite being unbeaten at home, their first time ever in the league, their away form cost them badly. After scoring just 3 at Bylet and then 2 at Wem USC they went down to mid table, and with their best away result being only 5 winners, they just finished outside the top 6. They scored a few big wins at home with 5 of them being more than 9 winners.
They lost in the Quarter Finals of the Black Tech Ltd Alan Mayhew Trophy to Bowring by 15 after getting a bye first round. In the BowlsTrader Pool B they rediscovered their previous form in the competition and won it for a joint record 5th time. They beat Burway and Wrockwardine Wood to progress to the final against Bowring on their other green, but Simon Tyler’s 21-1 win was the main difference as they won by 16 chalks.
