Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
The Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League would like to congratulate our three Merit Winners from Sunday on their success. First up was Callum Wraight who won the Shropshire one for the third time. The Castlefields man won it on Pontesbury beating Pete Bound in the final 12. Pete had beaten Callum’s team mate Glyn Herbert 18 from 12-1 down while Callum beat Pete’s Meole Brace team mate Colin Beaman 18 in the Semi Finals. All four progress to the Senior Individual Merit finals on 29th July at Nuneaton Griff.
Scott Simpson of Sir John Bayley won the Staffordshire Merit, beating former Bayley team mate Aaron Tapper in the final at Amery 16 in a close final throughout. Another young gun won the Welsh Merit in Ifton’s Keiron Roberts who beat Jason Jones 19 in the final. He had beaten another Premier League player in the Semi Finals beating Robin Bennett 19 of Hanmer, who will join Keiron at the Senior Individual Merit Finals. None of our Warwick and Worcester players managed to get past the first round, with Gareth Herbert winning it in the end.
