2017 Review:
Chester Road had a very poor 2017 considering the season they had before. They kept roughly the same players but apart from their two county players just didn’t perform at all. They did earn some big home wins over the season but a bad 11-3 loss at home was followed a few weeks later by a loss against Hanmer. After a couple of big away losses they did recover to record 5 at Castlefields before getting at least 4 until their last away game at Hanmer. They didn’t win a single game in the cup either.
2018 Aims:
Chester Road will aim to get back into the top aim and recreate their 2016 form. They will want to remain unbeaten at home and make sure those big wins happen more often. If they want that top half finish then they need to start winning away from home again after not doing so last season at all. More players will need to step up and support their top two players in the league averages. They have drawn Hanmer in the Alan Mayhew Trophy and will want revenge after Hanmer did the double over them last season.
