The Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League has nearly half the field at the Meole Brace Open finals day. Castlefields boast five qualifiers themselves with last year’s Champion of Champion finalists Callum Wraight facing Kevan Shaw 1st round and Mike Beer taking on Burway’s Len Lewis. There is also Glyn Herbert playing Adam Jackson, Mark Taylor playing Craig Gant and Tom Palmer against Graeme Wilson. There are a couple more all League clashes with Bylet’s Rob Fuller playing Mike Dulson of Wem USC and fellow young guns Sam Millward of Newport and Hanwood’s Ash Wellings taking each other on. New Bowring singing Jack Whitehead plays James Seville, while Sir John Bayley’s Aaron Tapper faces Carl Fielding. Former winner Andrew Hughes, who played a couple of games for Ifton last season, faces a tough test against Greg Smith of Hanwood, who will be eager to win this for the first time. Former Isle of Man winner and Ifton player Leighton Roberts plays Kevin Handley.
The full draw is here.
Salop Leisure and the league would like to wish our players all the best.
